I think the owners couldn't decide whether they wanted to have a farm, a trailer park, a zoo or a campground. In any event, the campground came in last. The staff is friendly but boy they sure make check-in complicated. Stay here for the short term when you must, but don't look for anything fancy. There are a lot of permanent residents here. The trip up High Point State Park nearby is worth the drive.

I'll start with what keeps this location from being a 10. It is the only campground you will ever find with a bar. This leads to the second observation: a bar leads to loud music. Apparently this family oriented location includes those who like to drink and party. Otherwise this is a great place to visit. The staff is nice and there is plenty to do both within and near the park. Enjoy.

This is a beautiful park and worth every penny. Just go there for the quiet.

It is a nice campground when it is not full. On a busy weekend plan for crowds. They seem to go overboard for charging for pets but I guess that discourages inconsiderate people from bringing dobermans to an already crowded environment.

This is a campground you should give a try. Nice people run it and is laid out logically with many riverfront sites. Enjoy!

This campground is simple and on the water. The staff is extremely friendly. We were here when it wasn't too crowded, but if the campground was full, the sites would be too close together. The Canadian border to Campobello Island is extremely close, so be sure to go there: it's a must! We would come back here again.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable campground. There are plenty of big pull-through sites with a city bike trail adjoining the property. Wi-Fi is an extra charge.

It is hard to accurately evaluate this place. It is close to things Halifax and somewhat wooded. I am not sure whether previous reviewers prejudiced me or not, but the staff seems to lack charm. Go in, register and don't ask any questions and you will love the place. Don't complain about the sporadic Wi-Fi because they will complain back that their customers are hogging it with the use of voice services like Skype. Don't ask for directions because they know where it is and you should too. They do leave you alone so you can do most anything on your site without constant monitoring. That is at least one plus.

Quiet. Half of sites have trees overhead, the other half are in the open for the sun worshipers. If you want to see the tidal bores, this is the place.

If you want a view of the Northumberland Strait, this is the place. Very open and very windy. You can see the sun come and go down over the same body of water because you are on a point of land. Road from the west is pretty bumpy, come in from the east if you can. Enjoy.

This place probably deserves a better rating than I have given it. What brings it down is the difficulty in following either GPS, map or signs in getting to the place. The streets in this city are like no other in the world. You have to go miles and through several overpasses just to go around the block. Be rested and ready to get lost a few times. The campground is course gravel in a bare field. The surrounding park is charming. If you have to be or stopover in St. John, this is the park to visit. Otherwise keep moving.

This is a nice hidden campground. Be sure and get specific arrival directions from office because access roads to the park from town can cause problems for larger rigs. Woods and the few lakeside spots make the place enjoyable. There are many permanents here on the back half of the campground but they do not detract from ambiance if you don't go over there. There are many nearby attractions.

Where we stayed on the water, this place is a 10. Convenient to Acadia and other Mt. Desert locations. They cook lobster every night and the pie lady comes through and sells pies out of the back of her station wagon: outstanding! The Wi-Fi is strong. Cable RV would have been nice for this price.

This campground is as charming as it gets with woods and waterfront sites. The staff was friendly. Don't forget to walk out to their private fishing area. We stayed an extra day.

There is no campground closer or more convenient to NYC. We did not hear the Friday night music others have complained of, but then we kept the A/C on all night and parked as far away from the outdoor light night bar. Expect no amenities at this campground, just asphalt and little stubbles of grass here and there. No trees of course.

The name says it all. If you want a family camp where everyone knows everyone else, this is the place for you. If you want beauty and peace and quiet, try another place. Place is crowded on the weekends with lots of people roaming around. If you are a social animal, you will love this place.

Don't try to check in before 1:00 pm. They really don't like that. Voltage was marginal when I was here. Circuit breaker at main supply kept popping out and left us without A/C periodically until late afternoon. Maybe they have it fixed by now. Fair number of trees. Suggest you ignore the Woodall directions and the posted signs to get here. Just turn west off Hwy 114. This will save you about 5000 potholes going the other way.

This campground is quiet and woodsy. Shopping is close by and Baltimore is close by. Access for larger rigs can be tricky. The easiest access to the park is from the west. A right turn off of Highway 40 from the west will take you directly to the campground. If you are coming from the east and if you have a larger rig, your only option is to proceed past the park and make a u-turn somewhere in town and come back to the park on Highway 40 going eastbound. Even though entry into the park from the east is possible, it will lead you to an 11 foot high underpass which could get you trapped. There is no turn-around point there.

This campground is nice and woodsy and quiet. The television reception isn't very good because of all the trees. There is only a gray water drain at the site. The office staff is extremely nice and helpful. We would definitely come back here.

The permanent residents have tackied up this place beyond repair. Pink flamingos and twirly beer cans abound. The river is a narrow dark stream which is less than charming. The trees do add a bit of ambience and if you can get away from the locals you might enjoy a night here. A tour of the quaint town will take about 20 minutes.

Nice clean campground. Very quaint. Bathrooms & showers very clean. Big pull-thru sites. Some very close together, though. Nice and close to I-95 and convenient to the highway. We would stay here again.

If you're looking for trees and woodsy, this is the place to go. It is reasonably priced and quiet. It is far away from the main towns.

What every park should be. If the sites were a little more level, I would give it a 10.

A great campground except for one small, and I mean that very literally, thing: the gravel on the roads. The gravel chunks must be the cheapest on the market, the sound of them on the tires sounds like ripping rubber. The gravel is also a major factor contributing to the dust too. That said, the campground has ample shade on many sites and nestled in a picturesque wooded area. Just drive slow and wear earplugs when you do so.

We could have given this nice campground a better rating except for the TRAINS. 2:00am, 3:00am you name it. Keep your conductor hat and overheat air conditioner on all night and you can survive. Very convenient to charming Independence. Worth the stop.

This is a really nice campground. You can choose to be in the section with trees, but the sites are too close together. For more room, there's the deluxe section, but it's wide open, no trees and costs more money. It's a hard choice - shade or space. Sites are all gravel. Wi-Fi is strong at your site. Nice park for pets. Staff all very friendly. We would have rated this a 10, but feel the price was just too high for a campground.

Got a fair amount of shade but the highway is pretty close. Lots of nice grass for pets. I have never been to a campground that has more posted rules. There is a rule against everything. It was quite comical. Guess we motor homers do a lot of stupid things.

Did not like this park at all. Lots of permanents, sites way too close together, no trees to sit under, gravel roads that blows dust everywhere when a car goes by. Would not stay here again.

I am not sure what the previous reviewers were thinking. About half of this park is quite the best I have ever been too. Quiet stream beside wide sites in deeply wooded area looking up at trees on a hillside. Now the other half is open air sites with no trees and moderate charm. So, ask for the backin sites for shade and charm or pull throughs for lots of sun. I agree that the one way road is narrow and perhaps when crowds are high on the weekends it could challenge some drivers. Take it slow and you will be fine. Hannibal is a kick.

This place is tops. It is on the top on a mountain and top rating. Staff are friendly and helpful and funny. We can't wait to stop here again. Don't forget to unhook your tow car at the bottom of the hill. It is quite a pull that last 50 feet.

Very nice campground near the interstate without the noise. Could not be cleaner.

Just a great little park close to the Interstate. Will stop here from now on.

Shrubbery blocks individual sites so park is as private as you can get. Very quiet. Must pay extra for 50 amp. Charming towns close by. Short road into park desperately repaving.

What a view. A quiet shaded area with room to bike and circle the lake. The stars shine at night almost as much as this camping area. Worth not having electrical power to enjoy.

Some of the previous visitors commented on "some urban noise." That is like saying the Titanic took on "some water." There are airliners taking off constantly overhead. There are trains. There are train bridge horns blowing all the time. The place could wake the dead. By the way, they have a "no refund" policy to keep complainers from leaving after the second or third 747 swoops overhead.

I would have given this park a negative number except it is in fact close to Yellowstone. It is a dismal and barren park. Gravel roads, sites are way way too close. To get to the campground, you have to climb a twisting steep gravel road that would be a challenge to most off-road vehicles. Don't even try it with your tow car. It is on a river, but to see it, you would have to hang over the cliff on a pole. Be wary of the parking attendant who insists on directing you into your site because of "insurance regulations." He lacks talent and tact. You might find yourself backing over the cliff with his awful instructions. He won't let your spouse/partner help in any way. Like any good "tin"-star general, he probably would prefer just a salute and utter silence from both of you.

An outstanding park with outstanding owners and staff. They make the stay enjoyable. It is as if they bought the place just on the chance that one day you would show up!
